About these resources
These free resources have been designed to help students develop their essay writing skills. They have also been developed for use by classroom teachers when teaching the basics of essay writing. The free downloadable workbook You Can Write Brilliant Essays is recommended for use in the classroom as it is a step-by-step guide and workbook that can be used with a range of age groups.
Essay writing is commonly used as a mode of assessment in schools and universities – and it is a skill that is not as hard to develop as people often think. In fact, in my numerous years of teaching in secondary schools as well as at university, I have made essay writing easily accessible by developing and using a simplified and tested approach – TESS. My TESS approach to essay writing has been used by thousands of high school and college students throughout the ACT and NSW.
These resources have now been separated into easy-to-read guides and the colour-coded pdfs have been designed with tags so that they can be read electronically by people with disabilities.
Why are they free??? I have always been a big believer in making education accessible to all.
I hope that you find these resources to be helpful. If you wish to share your feedback regarding the resources, please use the email link provided on this website.
